Billl Dare is a writer and producer who has created TV shows such as The Mary Whitehouse Experience, Dead Ringers, The Late Edition with Marcus Brigstocke, The Secret World, and I’ve Never Seen Star Wars…

DSC00738He’s created radio shows including The Now Show, The Motion Show and – where also lead writer – Life Death and Sex with Mike and Sue, The Big Town All Stars, The Secret World, Brian Gulliver’s Travels and Les Kelly’s Britain. Bill has also produced TV series such as Spitting Image (8 series), Loose Talk, the sitcom Mr Charity for BBC2 and the comedy/drama Twisted Tales for BBC3.

Bill wrote the film You’re Breaking Up, broadcast on BBC2. Alongside his television and radio work, Bill has written two plays and a novel, Natural Selection, published in both the UK and USA (Penguin); he co-wrote Nina Conti’s five star show, Talk to the Hand. Bill has also script edited, acted and directed.

Bill also spent many years as Script Executive for BBC Comedy radio and television.

As well as writing and producing, Bill spends one evening a week teaching comedy writing and producing at the world famous NFTS.

He has one daughter and lives in London.
